WHAT IS MY LITTLE BOOKSHOP?
My Little Bookshop is exactly as the name suggests. A place of conversing, transacting and trading so everyone comes out a winner. A diverse, inclusive range of fiction, nonfiction, children's and quirky categories for all to love and celebrate.
Our small business started in May 2019 and is still Australia's one and only travelling bookshop.
Juggernaut Joe, the smaller and more delicate of the vans is the mid-week run around that fits anywhere slightly bigger than a postage stamp.
DO YOU PROMOTE LOCAL AUTHORS?
We are proud to say that My Little Bookshop promotes and stocks a large range of Western Australian and Australian authors. One of our main aims is to showcase what marvelous talent we have locally. Whenever we're out and about with the travelling bookshop, you'll see a wide range of local authors. You can also check out the Australian and Western Australian authors category in the online shop for details.
I AM A SELF-PUBLISHED AUTHOR. WILL YOU STOCK MY BOOK?
Congratulations on writing your book. We acknowledge and appreciate the amount of time, effort, talent and energy that went into writing your book.
However, at this time, we do not have the time or shelf-space to consider self-published books.
Previously, we had offered local self-published authors the opportunity to be shared on our online shop. However, this trial was unsuccessful and has since closed.
ARE YOU A SECONDHAND BOOKSHOP?
ALL PROCEEDS TO STORY DOGS.
Short answer: Yes
Longer answer: We have a selection of pre-loved books available for purchase through our online bookshop and in store.
If a book is pre-loved, it will have a note at the bottom of a book's description to advise if a book is pre-loved.
All our pre-loved books are in excellent condition. There are no dog ears or a message from Aunty Shirley saying 'Merry Christmas, 1984.'
100% of all proceeds made from pre-loved books goes straight to Story Dogs who we very proudly sponsor. Kids literacy is the big winner, and in turn is a win for us all.
We accept second-hand books by donation only. If you have any book's you'd like to go to another home, reach out to us and see if it's something we can take on.
WHAT DO YOU OFFER SCHOOLS AND EDUCATIONAL CENTRES?
Our kids have such wonderful imaginations and here in our bookshop we love to keep that spirit alive. They don't come into a system with embedded beliefs and biases, its learned behaviours. My Little Bookshop is a big advocate of encouraging tolerance, acceptance, kindness and being in a world where we can all live in peace. It may seem a big ask, in a world that is bombarded 24/7 with tech and information overload, however we are doing our bit, one step at a time, by stocking a range of books on the topics and issues of today. We have an awesome relationship with the market organisers, who align with our values and professionalism in bringing the best to you at each market day.
Please note, as a small business, market appearances may be cancelled at short notice due to weather, illness or staff unavailability. Always best to check our social media pages for the latest info.
WHATS YOUR DELIVERY PROCESS WITH THE ONLINE SHOP?
We offer free delivery in the Perth Metro area.
Otherwise, the shipping rate to post in Australia is $10 on the first book, $3 per book thereafter. Free shipping for orders over $70.
For international shipping, please reach out to us to discuss.
We currently utilise Australia Post, and this can be tracked. Shipping/postage usually occurs within a day of order being placed.
We are big fans of recycling and as such if you have ordered a large quantity of books, we will reuse the boxes our suppliers send us. Do not fret that it's not the glam look on the outside but be thrilled that inside is the true jewel you have been waiting for and our earth will thank us for it. Alas, not being a global domination force, We're sure your understanding of supporting local business will shine through as we all support our local communities.
